Cadence Design Systems, Inc. Senior Distinguished Engineer (Computational Electromagnetics) in San Jose, California

The EMX R&D team is looking for a talented senior software engineer who is ready to make an immediate impact to the success of the EMX product line.

Responsibilities:

  • Software development, debug and analysis in C++.

  • Partner with cross-functional R&D teams to gather requirements, generate specifications, and architect solutions.

  • Develop detailed functional specifications for new feature development and enhancements.

  • Collaborate on key architecture and design decisions.

  • Provide technical leadership on project areas, including cross-functional flows.

Requirements for the ideal candidate:

  • MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or related field.

  • 15+ years of relevant industry experience.

  • Strong programming skills in C++ with a deep understanding of data structures and algorithms.

  • Experience developing and maintaining code bases of moderate size (100K lines).

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Strong background in computational electromagnetics and circuit theory.

  • Experience with parallelization and/or GPUs.

  • Knowledge of linear algebra and numerical methods.

The annual salary range for California is $213,500 to $396,500. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
